

Stress is a huge part of the game, so anything changing it must be considered carefully. I wanted to give it a bit more use without unbalancing the item too much. The reasoning behind it is this: Laudanum is one of those items that I think most people rarely buy or even consider taking at all with them when going on a quest (with a few exceptional situations). Why I made this I made this mostly for myself but I wanted to share it with others that want to use it. If you want to increase/decrease the amount of stress healing Laudanum has, or increase/decrease the amount of gold Laudanum bottles cost, I wrote a step-by-step guide on how to change it here. If you do build the district, do know that you will no longer be able to spam laudanum consumption until the 3 rounds for the stress buff have passed, I believe this is a vanilla effect but I didn't want to change this because I think it balances the benefits quite nicely, otherwise you would be able to spam stress buffs for an insame amount, -40% stress is already a VERY good buff so that should protect your character quite a bit until he/she can take a second dose.

This hasn't changed, but I added the additional 5 points of stress healing. This DLC allows you to build the Tainted Well district, which adds an additional -40% Stress buff for 3 rounds when you consume Laudanum. The mod should work with and without the Color of Madness DLC. If you build the Tainted Well district from the DLC, you can't spam it anymore, see why below. You can spam all bottles on one character if you are desperate for some stress healing, but if you get into this habit you won't have any left for when you do get Horror and need to cure it. Its description tooltip has been updated. Its price has been increased from 100 gold to 150 gold. Heals 5 points of stress damage per bottle* (see note below). Can now also be consumed even if you are not affected by Horror. (Unchanged from base game) Can be used to remove Horror.
